Apprenticeships in England

Apprenticeship frameworks in England must meet the Specification of Apprenticeship Standards for England (SASE) from 6th April 2011.

There are three documents which framework developers must read and understand:

1. SASE (Ref: 09/1458)

This document sets out the minimum requirements for an English Apprenticeship, framework at levels 2, 3 and 4.

Compliance with SASE will be a statutory requirement of the Apprenticeships, Skills, Children and Learning (ASCL) Act.

2. SASE Guidance (Ref: 09/1459 )

This guidance summarises the minimum requirements to be included in an Apprenticeship framework when it is used in England.

3. Annex to SASE (Ref: 09/1592)

This sets out the requirement for supporting information that is used to explain entry conditions, progression routes and equality and diversity in an Apprenticeship framework that will be used in England.
This website allows framework developers to create a framework by completing a series of fields, on line, based on the SASE requirements.
