Apprenticeships Northern Ireland

Past Northern Ireland apprentice of the year The Department for Employment and Learning is responsible for apprenticeships in Northern Ireland. The ApprenticeshipsNI programme offers a range of apprenticeship opportunities at Level 2 and Level 3 for existing/newly recruited employees, of all ages.

Specialist Support Services are available for apprentices with an auditory, visual or other physical disability.

There are over 100 Apprenticeships to choose from, and they can take between 2 to 4 years to complete depending on the level of study.

The Department undertakes to pay the full costs of the ‘off-the-job’ training for the duration of the apprenticeship.

ApprenticeshipsNI are delivered jointly by Employers and Training Suppliers to ensure that apprentices:

  • get first rate training
  • build knowledge and skills
  • gain qualifications
  • earn a wage from day one.
